The Jurong formation covers the south, southwest and west of Singapore with a variety of sharply folded sedimentary rocks, including conglomerate, sandstone, shale, mudstone, limestone and dolomite. It was deposited during the late Triassic to early or middle Jurassic. The formation has been severely folded and faulted in the past as a result of tectonic movement.
